What a bunch of maroons – the city spends “millions” of dollars on updates / upgrades / etc and a lowly gear busts.

What, other than the gears, DID they fix? The holes in some Providence Pockets? What do they spend $250,000 on each year – Engineer Bombard? And it was broken through the entire hurricane season?

Underwriters with exposure should consider paying for the repairs – it would be much cheaper than resulting losses.

well, if i remember right, this is a true to life story about that gate in R.I. matter of fact, if memory serves me right, the show DIRTY JOBS w/Mike Rowe had him doing/helping w/the annual repairs recently. most of the repairs are for this zinc anodes which helps with the corrosion of the gate. there are various other repairs that goes on as well.
