Marquis Agency Acquires N.Y.-Based Lucas & Dake

The Marquis Agency of Woodbridge, N.J., acquired Lucas & Dake Co. Inc. of Rochester, N.Y. The new agency will be called Marquis Lucas Dake. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Marquis Agency is a professional services insurance broker offering insurance services for architects and engineers, accountants, real estate professionals and lawyers. The company offers these professional service organizations a comprehensive package of insurance brokerage, risk management, employee benefit and HR services.

Founded in 1907, Lucas & Dake serves businesses and families in New York, and has specialized in professional liability brokerage and risk management since 1975. In addition to offering professional liability insurance for architects and engineers, the firms also offers a professional liability program for CPAs, underwritten by CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company. The program is endorsed by the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
