No question that operator training and proper maintenance are key elements of ride safety. However, there are always people who ignore instructions and/or manage to defeat safety mechanisms in an attempt to enhance the thrill or simply act stupid. This most recent case seems to be a combination of both. The girl was a ride operator herself so there’s no excuse for her not knowing the safety protocols. Tragic, but preventable with a little common sense.
I agree with you claims guy. At 18 years old common sense should kick in, knowing you can not stand up on that ride. Especially when your the operator of the ride. As for the 7 year old child, the case saddens me. I would never of have let the little boy go on the ride by himself when that ride cleary goes out of the parents site.
