The Economists did a piece recently and yes the number of deaths was much lower than other energy producers. (and for clarification the Economist article did not use the bombs on Japan nor did they include the pollution effect on populations near mines).

Nuclear power is not a solution to our energy problems… it might be small part of it.

This was very saddening. I know a few people lost thier lives, and my family send their prayers to the victims.

Don’t worry New Yorkers, like they told you after 9/11: The Air is completely safe to breath. And if you happen to cough up blood that’s totally normal. Asbestos is good for your lungs.

Mayor Bloomberg just came out yesterday to say that the air qulaity test showed no evidence of airborne asbestos. What about the pounds and pounds of ash that covered the fleeing pedestrians and office workers. Don’t know about you but we’ve already set up a spreadsheet for the WC claims that are going to come in.

There is this woman named Hillary that is running for President. She has done pretty good as as Senator for Arkansas and New York. If you want her to finish off fixing up N.Y.C. then vote for her as President. She has a magic box called the last mimzy. That Mimzy has all the answers for your problems.

What does a guy named “Bill” know about Hillary’s box? Last I checked it was the only box he shied away from.

Air quality because of the pipe bursting is a non-issue. Only long term exposure to concentrated levels of asbestos is a concern. That didn’t happen here. The City and ConEd have a bigger problem…….the rotting infrastructure below the streets. Where was the “preventive maintenance” planning all these years? I’m sure both the City and ConEd have been paying big bucks to engineers to evaluate these things. Now they’re whining it will take “billions” to replace the pipes. Who do you suppose will pay for that? Quite frankly, it isn’t going to happen and the only strategy is no strategy. Wait for them to blow and replace them one by one. It’s scarey to know the “greatest city in the world is so short-sighted. Everybody takes the big salary and bonuses but nobody is every held accountable for things going to hell in a hand basket. They’ll just increase taxes……..again.
