They scream at US, the soiled masses to do as we are told, drive within the speed limit, always wear your seat belt, blah, blah and then…….This politicians get is *** kicked by his arrogant attitude.
Now the citizens of NJ need to send this politician packing at election time. He will some how get expenses from this accident paid by the taxpayers,, I’m betting.

and paid for his asinine behavior. He’s lucky his self importance didn’t lead to the traffic deaths of his own constituents. Flashing emergency lights
    in a non emergency indeed.

    This exclusion should deny coverage.
    … Wait!
    Politician.
… That means a clear pre-existing condition existed. So the exclusion can’t be invoked.
    Curses, foiled again!

I applaud him for stepping up to the plate. He is a VERY wealthy individual and can afford to pay the bills.

Maybe he can afford to pay for the bills, but being a politician, he will be reimbursed and no one will know about it!

The medicals bills amount to pocket change to his fat cat so it’s no big sacrifice, just a lame attempt at damage control.

He should reimburse the state for all of the ancillary expenses he caused to be incurred because of his arrogance and stupidity. Here’s a short list of other things he should pay for:

    1. a pro-rated salary adjustment while he was incapacitated and when he came back in a diminished capacity.
    2. the cost for PR and his post accident TV ad promoting seal belts.
    3. all the expenses to accomodate his disability including equipment, transportation costs, and salaries.

He may have lost 30 pounds but somehow managed to escape a haircut and a shave.

I’m sorry, but I bet the majority of you posting on here would not stepped up the way this guy has. You would have held your hands out and said, “HELP ME!” and then you would have sued the driver, the driver’s parents, the car maker, the car maker’s parents, and the drivers of the other two cars for not driving more defensively.

You say, “he got what he deserved.” is that what you would say to a family member who chooses not to wear a seatbelt and gets into a horrific car accident?

He made a mistake, it was a lesson learned. what more do you want? the guy’s head?

I agree with ‘Whatever’. I happen to be at that age where wearing a seatbelt is the norm. I always do because I always did. But, I know many older people who wear them sporatically. Of course everyone should wear a seatbelt, but just because the man didn’t, doesn’t warrant such harsh criticism.

In saying that, the speed and siren use were certainly uncalled for, but even so, it doesn’t seem that this should be a scandal of any sort. The man made a mistake and has more than paid the price for his error.

It wasn’t him that was driving. It was an officer going way too fast & crashing into another vehicle & then crashing for good. His arrogance is what is causing the ruckus!
