Of course he is sorry now. Paying the fine does not make up for the bad example. Our politicians need to practice what they preach. Right Al G?

Regardless of whether or not you think he is sorry, he is paying a significant enough price in injuries for you to give him the benefit of doubt. Broken ribs and hip is no joke and extremely painful and my guess would be that he is going to wear his seatbelt consistently in the future. Go hate on somebody else. Him getting this injured shows how stupid you can be for not wearing a seatbelt and this outcome will probably convince more people to wear their seatbelt than if he had just come out and said \”wear your seltbelt\”.

Don\’t think Realist has understood the process. We really don\’t hate Corzine himself. It is truly sad he was injured, but blowhard politicians still tell us what is good for us when they don\’t seem to give a rip about following the same rules we are supposed to. He did indeed set a bad example, now watch him try to parlay that into political hogwash!

His injuries are tragic. But $46?? What about the $250+ fine for going 26mph over the speed limit? He\’s probably going to make the state trooper who drove him (and makes 50K/year) pay it!

No one hates politicians more than myself so I do not feel bad for him being injured because he probably deserved it, but my point is I doubt that he will drive without his seatbelt from this point on so he probably genuinely is sorry for not wearing his seatbelt if only because he injured himself. He is not sorry he set a bad example but sorry that he got injured. Policticians are the worst role-models in the world so don\’t expect them to be.

I wish they would publish the total costs for the actual medical bills, for the hospital etc. so people can see the true impact of driving without a seat belt. NO one expects to be in an accident without a seatbelt but this shows just how severe the injuries can be.

It is not just the hospital bills – what about the cost of the helicopter med-evac – the accident investigations teams, etc. These items are hardly ever mentioned. a millionare can foot his medical bills with no problem, but how about the teenager with minimum medical coverage – guess who is footing the bill for those expenses? You\’re right its you!
