To All In The Insurance Industry in New York: This is just a small sign of things to come. A separate article on MSN indicates Democrats are going to begin to crack-down on CEO\’s. Elections have ramifications. We reap what we sow!

What a MORON! Like most politicians, Democrat or Republican, none take the time to really learn what our business is about.
    1) Provide dollars for future possible losses.

    2) Share the risk across large populations

    3) MAKE A PROFIT! That is the American way.

We are NOT a public accomodation. We are, hopefully, a profit making endeavor.

Sound actuarial and business practices, mitigated by sound public policy should be part of the rate setting mechanism.

…and, living outside of NYC, I am quite tired of it dictating to the rest of the state. We are NOT here for the City\’s benefit.

Insurance companies should sell out to the oil companies. It\’s okay for them to make billions at the consumers expense. Wonder how much gas is up in New York?

Gas in NY is at least $.20 to $.40 per gallon more than most other states, CA excepted. We like to tax the life out of our citizens and businesses.

    Jack,
You are right on target. While our politicians love to tax us, they fail to see the decrease in population and jobs. Hillary never delivered on her promise to increase the jobs in New York, not that I ever expected her to. But, they must go after corporate America and punish success. That should be their theme!

Our record for taking care of the poor is without precedent. 100% literacy in Cuba and all have healthcare. In North Korea we are so very blessed to have Nuclear Power now, we don\’t even turn the lights on in the evenings. Comrade Spitzer has a very fine history of making the evil insurance companies pay. Wait until he takes office!!!

Democrat politicians understand the benefits of the free market, the\’re not that dumb. They know most all voters own a car, and their political base is made up of the uneducated and the \”not too smart\” crowd. This is common Democrat politics.

Your comments are not only way off base but completely untrue. Democrats are more educated than the Repbus. Religion keeps the Repub down and stupid.

Why not take a swing at an industry where most CEO\’s have a salary of $1,00,000 plus all those options. This is an industry that has and always will be bashed.
When a compnay goes belly up for improper reserves then we have the outcry of why wasn\’t their rate changed to prevent this.
This is an indusrty that no matter what we do we always have soomeone pointing out what went wrong EXCEPT for some of the out landish salaries of the CEO\’s.
Perhaps it\’s about time that the DOI began to look at salaries of these people. If sports wants a salary cap why not other business\’s.
A good adjustor can bust their but work 50 to 60 hours a week make 75K to 100K and watch their boss bring up what a great salary they make.
Let\’s just face it, we work in an indusrty that has and always will have a target painted on it, except for the CEO\’s.
