I\’m tired of reading about the number of uninsued motorists that now have insurance in New Jersey. If the writer and PCI are referring to the \”dollar-a-day\” program, please be adivsed that this policy does not provide auto insurance. The New Jersey DOBI web-site even says this policy does not provide any liability coverage for injury to others. So, the state of New Jersey is actually sanctioning the increase of uninusred motorists. Why is the truth so hard to uncover? New York and Pennsylvania, be aware: These drivers are probably driving in your state!

    Mr. Recall:

\”New York and Penssylvania be aware…\”

Guess you failed to recall that dollar-a-day policies include liability coverage when you drive in another state.

Well, lets see…the last time I read the policy I may have missed something. However, you seem to agree with me that this \”policy\” does not provide any auto liability in New Jersey. Yet N.J. keeps claiming they are reduing the number of uninsured motorists. I wonder how many law-abiding drivers in New Jersey will feel like \”winners\” if they are hit by someone with a state-sanctioned \”no-insurance\” policy.

Mr. Recall: No one cares. Check the East Archives back to April 8, 2004 (yes, 2004) for the article NY Dollar-A-Day Sales Top 1500. Read through the comments (mine are in there as well). The overwhelming philosophy is \”I\’m not covered without insurance, I\’m not covered with it. But at least I\’m driving legally\”.
