Virginia Farm Bureau Offering Identity Theft Resolution Services

March 1, 2006

Virginia Farm Bureau (VFB) has partnered with Identity Theft 911 to assist its members through the process of restoring their credit and regaining control of their identity if and when they become a victim of identity theft or a natural disaster. VFB will now provide identity theft resolution services to all of its members at no additional cost.

Identity theft is the fastest-growing crime in America; Federal Trade Commission statistics estimate that almost 10 million Americans were victims last year.

Surprisingly, the majority of identity theft cases reportedly do not result in substantial out-of-pocket expenses for victims; rather, the most significant losses are time and a sense of personal security. The services provided by Identity Theft 911 aims to combat this growing crime and provide assistance should any of VFB’s members have their identity stolen.

Identity Theft 911 is a provider of identity theft crisis resolution, defense and education services. The firm assigns a personal advocate to guide victims through the difficult process of identity theft recovery. The advocate can assist with placing credit file fraud alerts; completing the FTC fraud affidavit; making phone calls to police departments, creditors, collection agencies and credit rating agencies; and setting up a case file for insurance claims and law enforcement investigations.

In addition, VFB members will have access to Identity Theft 911’s proactive educational material through www.vfbinsurance.com and www.vafb.com.
