Unbelievable!!! Does \”Possession of Stolen Property\” not apply in this case?? or at least a duty as an officer of the court to uphold the law..

It seems that lawyers can twist anything to suit their purpose. This thief should be thrown in jail for the remainder of his life. He knew who the owner was but wanted a 10% cut for returning the man\’s own property! I agree, what a scumbag.

Isn\’t there a statute of limitations on theft? Can they prosecute him after 28 years? Scumbag yes, but he is a lawyer, and your point is??? Would you have expected less.

Who would have millions of dollars worth of paintings in their home and not have them insured?

It would appear the statute might not apply – except for the theft which was too far back. The continuing act to sell back stolen property to it\’s rightful owner probably constitutes an ongoing crime.
And you\’d be surprised how many collectors don\’t cover their possessions – and just as many who buy their first policy, then have their first loss within the first term! I\’ve had that happen several times. Bad timing, or just a probability curve that caught up with the Insured?

This lawyer should not only be prosecuted but should be reported to the Bar Association and State Licensing Division for investigation and possible disbarment. Lawyers like this give their profession the bad reputation it has

I am in possession of a Paul Cezanne painting, my grandfather gave it to me and Im sure someone gave it to him. But how will I know if it was stolen or worth anything.
