So, Governor Pataki proposes to gradually raise workers\’ compensation maximum benefits from $400 to $500 per week over the next four years. Well, Santa Claus has come to town! Connecticut already has a maximum rate of $931 per week and New Jersey pays $891 per week. How fair is that? In addition, the Governor\’s plan would take away benefits from the most seriously disabled putting them on the welfare rolls. This only shifts the cost of workers\’ compensation from employers to property taxpayers. I don\’t think hard working New Yorkers will appreciate a hidden property tax increase
when they go to the polls next year. But then again, the Governor does not have to worry about getting elected in New York again. He\’s got Iowa on his mind!

Well put Troy and I hope the legislature does not act on this one either, I was injured in 1993, I was a butcher for 22 years IM getting 1/3 of what they get in Connecticut no Christmas for us, why does Pataki dislike the working man; I do not get it; NY has got to be one of the wealthiest States, yet the working man has to fight for every little crumb that falls off the table, of these rich so an So.\’s,
Smiling jacks, It\’s for sure they have to stomp out fraud in all kinds of Insurance across the board, oh yea big deal he wants to increase our little crumbs to 5 cents what the hell will they do with that in ten years ask me and I will tell you, Little more then NOTHING,
