Whenever a horrible event happens and is on the evening news….local, state, and federal governments feel the need to make new laws, as though these laws would have prevented the disaster.
Governments should not react to show they care..or to legitimize their existance…but instead should do nothing. So much bad law has been enacted to ‘show they care’, just go back to arguing over inane positions trying to create sound bytes for the liberal media who will eat it up and pass it along without ever checking the merits or facts involved in the sound bytes.

The previous post mentioned that all tragedies cannot be averted?

Well, maybe not all…but fire tragedies can be! And it is Firefighters pushing for fire sprinklers in ALL buildings, new construction and existing, not politicians! It is firefighters that have to recover 4,200 bodies from fires EVERY STINKIN’ YEAR!

Fire sprinklers can be done and it is long overdue. As a firefighter of 31 years, I realized 30 years ago we (firefighters) are nothing more than glorified janitors, cleaning up after other people’s irresponsibility with fire, their stupidity and their laziness or lack of care.

Fire sprinklers is the way to go because obviously, we can’t fix stupid.

sprinklers do not prevent fires they help put them out. The best solution is to not allow people into any building, then if it catches on fire no one would ever be hurt. the problem was using fireworks indoors, in other words stupidity. People rushing to doors added to the problem as well. I remember in K-12 having fire drills-which required moving out quickly without panicking.
