THIS IS GOOD WORK BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE. CONTRACTORS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT TO PROVIDE BETTER SERVICES.

The cease and desist order did not last for long. Until recently, he was an unlicensed contractor for Lowe’s Home Improvement store(Since March 2005). We had the unfortunate experience of working with him when he was assigned to us for a project originated through Lowe’s. He harassed us for payment before the work was done and he harassed and threatened us when we complained about him to Lowe’s. We have filed complaints with three organizations but there has been no response. And Lowe’s is treating us like the bad guys not the victims. So never assume that if you deal with a major chain that you will be safe from shady contractors. You’ll get ripped off anyway and no one seems to care.

I have a similar story. I had problems with Lowe’s assigning a subcontractor who did not have the proper license(s), and resulting damages. I complained to the BBB, FTC, MD Attorney General, etc.

Who did you complain you? and did you get any resolution?

This contractor was hired by Lowe’s and caused me extensive expense and damage to my remodeling job. He is a fraud and belongs in jail.

He also has an associate named Stephen Roberts. They totally screwed up a job and we had to fight in court for judgements against them. We won, but collecting our lost money from them is a whole different story.

Stephen Roberts, as I understand it, is Greg’s brother-in-law and he is helping to front Greg’s operation. I am leaving soon to appear in court against them. There is a long list of people with complaints – I hope it’s enough to get him out of people’s homes. Wish us luck!

His life of crime continues… It’s now 2018 and again, Gerhardt was just found at fault for stealing $150k to establish a partnership with a Home Advisors costumer. Home Advisors, though not pursued in court, is guilty of not doing diligence as promised in all its advertising. That company had Gerhardt, already guilty of fraud at least twice, on its list of validated contractors even though Gerhardt had no license to practice in Maryland. Do your own checks since those A-holes did nothing to protect a customer from being preyed upon. Be aware of Greg Gerhardt of Spencerville, MD. He brings shame his family name!
