Car parts after market parts are not created equally. When my ford was damaged years ago state farm talked me into going with after market parts My care fender after market rusted out after three years while the rest of the car was ok. I do not belive that after market parts are created equally and do devalue a cars worth.

Mike, I think the key phrase in your comment was “years ago.” Generally, aftermarket parts are better now that 10 years ago. That said, I agree that all aftermarket parts are not created equally, but the way this law deals with them is short-sighted and will not serve the consumer well. The key to making this work is a detente between the auto shops and the carriers; finding the middle ground, not a de facto ban on the parts.
