Pennsylvania-based Devon Health has moved to expand its Claims Negotiation service in an effort to aid in the struggle against soaring healthcare costs.

“The Claims Negotiation team has been successful in working with doctors, hospitals, and clients,” said Jason Mattey, director of Claims Negotiation for Devon Health. “We negotiate discounts on any medical claim, regardless of size or type. This service is saving clients money and helping lower inflationary healthcare costs, so we are extending the service to groups beyond our contracted client base.”

Devon Health’s Claims Negotiation team contacts doctors and hospitals on behalf of clients. Over the last year, the team has reportedly secured average discounts of 25%+ on medical claims. Doctors and hospitals receive payment within 15 business days, helping reduce healthcare costs.

Devon Health helps doctors and hospitals receive payment within 15 business days of contact. A recurring problem for providers and physicians has reportedly been the long periods of time it takes to receive payment for services rendered.

“We understand the problems that doctors and hospitals face in regards to reimbursement,” added William Bruce, director of Hospital Relations. “As claims accumulate healthcare costs rise, and bad debt is incurred. The Claims Negotiation service ensures proper payment and combats this growing trend.”

Employer groups also reportedly benefit from the Claims Negotiation service by receiving discounts on expensive medical claims, including those that fall out-of-network. Savings can be rolled over to preserve benefit packages and help employers stay competitive. Large and small companies nationwide have the opportunity too, as the service is not limited to contracted clients.
