…is how someone was able to take life insurance out on a used car salesman? Was he a relative (doesn’t look like it). That would be like me taking a life insurance policy out on some random person I don’t know. Don’t see how that is possible.
A federal grand jury said Skiba and his brother-in-law, fellow electrician Shane Simeral, 43, of Perry Street in McKeesport, conspired to take out three life insurance policies on Cooper, then have him shot. The indictment traces the insurance scheme to February 1997.
It says that’s when Skiba took out a $50,000 life insurance policy on Cooper from Royal Neighbors of America Insurance Co. and named himself the beneficiary. Skiba submitted the premiums.
Three years later, in February 2000, Skiba and Simeral took out a life insurance policy on Cooper from Garden State Life Insurance Co. They falsely presented Simeral as Cooper’s nephew and named Simeral the beneficiary. Simeral and Skiba paid the premiums.
A month later, they applied for life insurance from Globe Life and Accident Insurance Co. Again, Simeral was identified as Cooper’s nephew and beneficiary.
It’s not clear if Cooper knew about the policies. The insurance papers listed either Skiba’s or Simeral’s home addresses as Cooper’s address, and Simeral’s phone number as Cooper’s phone.
hey, I was a casual friend of larry skiba for a few years up until he did what he did, I had no idea what he was involved with but I knew something was wrong with him the last time I saw his face in his driveway he looked like he was being hunted and very nervous, at first I said no not larry but now it has come be that he did do it, I dont know if he wrecked his truck during the murder but his truck was pretty tore up right afterwards and guess who his neighbor is well lets put 2 and 2 together, he was Tom Clark Chevrolets electrician, well guess who his neighbor is Old man Clark, correct me if i am wrong but didnt cooper at one time work for Tom Clark Chevy hmmmm, just a little food for thought

I agree, what insurable interest did he have on the used car salesman? Where they partners?
I was curious too. Doesn’t sound like anyone checked on the relationship.
Per the local paper, he shounds like a real scum-bag.
