What happened to the “Ford E-350 he was riding in rolled over in 2005 makes the auto designer liable for such an outrageous settlement???? You put anything on ice – ramp it up to 60-70mph and see what happens.. What is happening to this country????? 18.3 million… Lets see – 38 years old – 38 more or less years to live…Social Security… I’d do just fine on $450,000 a year for the next 38 years…

another great example of a sympathy verdict; how many thousands of people are permanently injured due to accidents of their own fault…but wait…maybe the manufacturer just didn’t do their job…so let me get this straight: It sounds like a CA resident, who is probably not experienced with cold weather driving (ie ice and snow) is travelling in Iowa, in a rear wheel drive van (ie: light tail-end, but that is normal for any van built for cargo) hit’s ice, and rolls vehicle over. Ford should have warned all owners that if they take their vehicle out of state they may encounter hazards, or even wonders, which they have not encountered before…it can be dangerous to take that Ford where your Ford has not gone before…just wondering, but if the verdict came up against GM or Chrysler, would the UAW have to pay 60% of the award?

Once again Trail Lawyers are cleaning up manufacturing. As proven countless times by court awards, USA citizens should not be allowed to manufacture anything.

Whoever wrote this article needs to go back to school. There are at least 2 incomplete sentences and the driver was going “too fast” not “to fast.”

Too is an adverb, and two different meanings give it two different distinct placements. Too meaning excessively, to an excessive degree.

To is a particle. The infinitive in English consists of two parts: the particle to and the verb.

The dumbing down of America starts with illiterate reporters.

The judicial system in this country is a joke. In its usual absured reasoning, the court (that’s a joke in and of itself) decided that somebody has to pay for this guys problems and whoever has the insurance is tagged. That will save the government from paying him under medicaid. It’s a beautiful thing. Attorneys and judges……..perfect together. Juries are equally as stupid.

Vehicles aren’t designed to protect you from every conceivable type of accident. Given enought extraordinary circumstances, you’ll get hurt in the most expensive cars. This guy couldn’t have been very successful with his band if he was in a freaking Ford van. If the roads were icy and treacherous, they shouldn’t have been driving on it.
