Not very original, looks like the copied the AIG Wildfire Protection Unit establised a few years ago.
Can’t they come up with their own original ideas?

    An original idea?

Maybe Chubb should accept a government bailout like AIG did…

Oh I forgot – Chubb doesn’t have its hand out to the taxpayers… that’s very original…

Who cares whether Chubb’s wildfire protection program was “copied” from an earlier AIG program?? Obviously, these techniques work, and offer to both local authorities and Chubb-insured homeowners additional help in the control & extinguishment of wildfires threatening residential areas. Kudos are in order for Chubb Group, for taking proactive steps to protect their insureds (and their loss reserves). As some unknown wise person once was quoted as saying: “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” No doubt Chubb would not have imitated AIG’s program if it did not believe it would benefit their bottom line.

I find it extremely impressive that an insurance company is taking such measures to help prevent a loss. Total losses of homes are devastating to the insured’s and do affect the bottom line. I would like to think they are doing this as a service to their customers as opposed to just trying to save a buck. Idealistic, I know. I can’t count the number of claims denied when it came to preventing a loss – ie, the tree limb hanging, but hasn’t fallen yet…..no power and no allowance for a generator to prevent damage. 3 ‘ of snow on the roof and no coverage to prevent damming….and on, and on. I think I’ll get a quote from Chubb.

Yes, definitely get your quote from Chubb and not AIG. While Chubb may have “copied” this coverage enhancement from AIG, they do not copy their claim handling from AIG who looks to deny a claim whenever possible.

Chubb quote? Don’t do it without getting an AIG (now AIU) Private Client Group quote too. Take it from an insurance agent that represents both Chubb and Private Client Group, Private Client Group’s claims walk circles around Chubb’s, and everyone elses. I have never had anything but phenomenal claims service from Private Client Group, who has a 99%+ claims satisfaction rate ev ery year since they began 9 years ago. Chubb on the other hand, has not always done such a good job with my client’s claims and i have gotten some dissatisfieds. Not saying they are bad, they are just not as reliable and service-oriented as Private Client Group. Chubb claims a 95% claiums satisfaction rate. By the way, Private Client Group’s Wildfire Protection Unit was not only the original program, but it is hands down the best. They use Phos-Chek (same product used by U.S. Dep’t of forestry and approved by EPA) to fight fires, which is a fertilizer based compound that last about 6 months with no loss of effectiveness and goes on clear/invisible. No need to reapply if the wildfire comes back at home a 2nd or 3rd time with moving wind patterns. Chubb’s ThermoGel however, is a water-based application with a gel compound that slows the water’s evaporation rate (water is the active fire fighting component). Chubb’s thermogel is only good for about 6 hours before needing reapplication due to evaporation. Chubb used to be the best carrier about 8 years ago, but Priave Client Group has taken over the lead for high net worth clietele. Oh, and did i mention has broader coverages, services and often, better prices. Get a Private Client Group quote if you want the best carrier. (The AIU insurance companies have not taken or used a dime of taxpayer $$).

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. Nice try, AIU is still satan’s company.

Yeah, Obama is ruining AIG – is that what you meant? You were kidding? Obama is ruining BofA? Obama ruined the auto makers?

Explain how institutions that are seriously under capitalized (they can’t meet all the business obligations they’ve already made) can declare huge profits? It’s all BS and it’s always been BS. A whole lot of suits need to do perp walks.

News flash – you lost. Turn out your lights, your party is over.

Bravo Wes! You would think AIG invented loss control and risk management.

It must kill the comrades at AIG to read about Chubb’s good publicity; considering AIG cannot buy good press…even with all that taxpayer’s money.
