I am convinced that either they don’t understand the serious nature of the problem and how it will affect the pocket books of Floridians and their insurers, or they simply don’t care. I hope its the former and that they become educated before another year goes by. This problem has been going on for a long time. Additionally, the vendors using the AOB law to solicit for attorneys are, in many cases, engaging in the unlicensed practice of public adjusting (UPPA). That is a 3rd degree felony in Florida and is also criminal in many states. States need to crack down on UPPA as a matter of good public policy.
