Miami police say a woman died when she was run over by her own car in a driveway.
Miami television station WTVJ reports the incident happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police spokeswoman Margarita Crown says two women were in the Ford Taurus when the driver stopped the car and started to step outside after a caution light came one. She says the driver apparently didn’t put the car in park and it began rolling.
Authorities say the passenger reached over and hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. The car then ran over the other woman.
Police say the woman was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she died.
No further details were immediately available.
Detectives are continuing to investigate.
