Falling Trees: Act of God or Covered Event?

    Just because a judge said so did not mean that he was correct. What if it was Dorothy’s tree from Kansas that landed on the house in LA, would the judge have made Dorothy pay for the tree removal? I think not and that judge in LA was an idiot.

    show me an insurance contract that refers to, uses, or defines and “act of god”.
    a bolt of lightning, a wind, a flood, an avalanche or landslide are all “acts of god” from a true sense, but some are covered under a standard homeowners policy and some aren’t.

    The issue with the judge and this tree are related to liability (tort claim) not first-party coverage.
