I’d like to know how a mechanical system failure like this is factored into the driverless car protocols? Is it even possible for the computer and sensory systems to assess and respond as effectively as this driver was able to? Without a backup design for redundancy, I’m very doubtful. More likely; we would be classified as “acceptable losses”.
