Walsh Joins York as President, Risk Management Practices

York Risk Services Group, a national provider of claims management, managed care, specialized loss adjusting, alternative risk programs, pool administration and other insurance services, named Patrick J. Walsh as president of York’s Risk Management Practices business and executive vice president of York Risk Services Group.

In this role, Walsh will provide direction and expertise in servicing York’s self-insured and deductible clients and lead the division’s strategic growth initiatives.

Walsh comes to York with 30 years of industry experience and has held executive positions with some of the largest insurance and claims services companies. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and chief claims officer for Accident Fund Holdings. He serves on the Advisory Board for the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference.

Call Joins Kinsale To Lead Management Liability Division

Virginia-based Kinsale Insurance Company named Greg Call leader of the Management Liability Division.

In this role, Call will be responsible for the continued growth and expansion of Kinsale’s existing Employment Practices Liability and Directors & Officers products.

Call has 15 years of management liability underwriting experience in all geographic areas of the United States. Prior to joining Kinsale, he was an assistant vice president with a large national insurer that specializes in management liability and has held management/underwriting positions with two other large national carriers involved in the segment.

James to Lead Chubb’s North America Marine Operations

Mark S. Jameshas been appointed senior vice president, Commercial Marine Insurance for Chubb’s North America Commercial Insurance division.

In his new role, James will be responsible for leading the growth and development of Marine insurance products and loss prevention services for mid-size companies with inland and ocean marine exposures.

James will be based inWhitehouse Station, N.J., and will report toPaul L. Lewis, chief underwriting officer, North America Commercial Insurance. He has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, most recently serving as senior vice president, Ceded Reinsurance at Chubb, and has held various underwriting and financial management positions throughout his career. He joined Chubb in 1987 as a Marine trainee and progressed into senior- and executive-level positions, including Property and Marine manager for Chubb’s Southern Zone and Worldwide Reinsurance Manager.

CNA Announces Commercial Organization Changes

CNA announced organizational changes in Commercial Insurance to continue strengthening its global capabilities.

The new team members will be based in Chicago and will report to Julie Stephenson, Commercial Chief Underwriting Officer:

Kathleen Ellis was named senior vice president, International. In this newly created role, Ellis will work closely with CNA Commercial, CNA Specialty and CNA International to build a stronger global platform to pursue, write and service multinational business around the world. Most recently, she held the role of senior vice president, Worldwide Manager, Chubb Multinational Solutions, where she led the Multinational Division and was responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction over the international underwriting and placement platform.

Drew Feldman was named senior vice president, Marine and Equipment Breakdown. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for driving synergies across Inland Marine, Ocean Marine and Equipment Breakdown, as well as accelerating the build out of the Marine specialty for CNA. Most recently, Feldman held the role of North America Commercial Marine Manager at Chubb, where he was responsible for the leadership and financial performance of ocean cargo, marine liability, commercial hull, marine facilities and commercial inland risks portfolio in the U.S. and Canada.

Swiss Re Announces New Structure and Leaders for U.S. P&C Markets

Swiss Re Americas today announced a new structure and leaders for the company’s US Property & Casualty markets. The new structure will have three managing director positions focused on the US Property & Casualty markets:

President of US P&C – Regional & National: Keith Wolfe will continue to lead the Regional & National team, and he will assume the role of president of Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation. In this new capacity, he will be responsible for all legal entity management, rating agency and regulatory interaction on behalf of the flagship reinsurance carrier.

President of US P&C – Large Clients:Seth Ruff will lead the Divisional Client Executives team, which is responsible for the overall relationships with Large clients. In addition, he will lead Swiss Re’s Client Market Underwriters, who handle the brokered treaty business for both Large and Global clients. He will assume the role of president of Swiss Re Underwriters Agency Inc. Ruff has been with Swiss Re for 15 years in a variety of roles, most recently as Head of P&C Structured Solutions, US Broker, Canada and Latin America.

Head of P&C Facultative:Ute Michaelsen will lead all Facultative teams direct and brokered in the US and Canada. She has held a number of roles with Swiss Re over the past 19 years, most prominently as Divisional Client Executive for Large clients, and more recently as broker executive for Swiss Re Underwriters Agency Inc.

All three US Property & Casualty market leaders will report to Smith and all appointments are effective May 2.
