Nailing Down Cost Containment with Home Modifications

    This is a good article, however, there are a few items I would add:
    1)Sometimes you have to make a decision that the home needing modifications is not functional and should be moved to a home that is more condusive to accessible design.
    2) Some contractors who are doing accessible modifications the right way, will have additional education provided by the builders association called “Certified Aging In Place”. These folks with the CAPS designation are key people I wold search for first.
    3) Design for the plan first, then design the application to the person who will be using it. Every single application is unique. Find someone who believes in this concept, and you find the right contractor.
