Mr. Tidball knows his stuff. This article should be a primer for every adjuster in the field. It’s a good reminder for the experience adjusters for how it should still be done.
Thank you Chris and the Claims Journal.
Mike Wallach,
Good article on BI processes and fraud.
I would underline Mr.Tidball’s comments on technology in particular, and add this observation. “Claims telematics” has a major role to play in detecting and measuring the crash and quantifying the forces acting on the vehicle and the occupants. Once an insurer can measure the force of the crash itself, knows the make and model of the car and some important details about the occupant’s stature and other variables, it is now possible to develop an estimate, using predictive analytics of the likelihood of whiplash . Just as UBI and PAYD programs are changing traditional practices on the underwriting side of the P&C industry now, telematics technology focusing on claims operations is likely to be disruptive with major advantages to early adopters.
