There are examples of ludicrous (mis)behavior in very realm, including the business realm in which Chamber members operate. Finding them is easy, but suggesting that a few bad apples represent that barrel is ridiculous and misleading.

As to these lawsuits, the story isn’t useful unless it also reports how the cases were resolved, such as by dismissal as frivolous, summary judgment against plaintiffs, etc. The court system is well equipped to dispose of unworthy cases, but the fact that they get brought from time to time is not in any way an indictment of the system, or of its essential place in the American way of life. Denying or limiting the right to sue, as the Chamber and other so-called “tort reformers” propose, is profoundly anti-American.

I’m fairly sure that tort reform has nothing to do with denying or limiting the right to sue. One approach, transforming to “loser pays” basis, clears the way for legitimate (yes, even contingency-based) cases to proceed at a faster pace…

Then there is the Lawsuit in Texas where I was sued for telling the truth about a Company (VR BUSINESS of Dallas) where they swindled me I was not sued for Libel since I was telling the Truth. I was sued in Rockwall Co which had no basis of Venue except that the Lawyer who helped in the Swindle is now a Judge there. Corrupt Judges should have only one Punishment Firing Squad
