What a great promotional gimmick! You just know that as soon as they go on-line, everybody is going to want to order from Amazon just to see one land at their house.
Just picture it. Hundreds of drones flocking about, setting off the barking of every dog in the neighborhood. And hundreds of kids trying to catch one, just to see if they can. Not to mention the criminal element. Why risk breaking into someone’s home or car. They’ll figure out a way to net a drone. It’s easy pickings. And since the economy is so strong, why not lay off package delivery drivers.
This has to be one of the most insane, but brilliant, marketing strategies ever devised. It benefits no one but Amazon. And from an insurance prospective – I would never insure these thing for theft because they are going to be prime targets.
