Please list some cases where the Judge considers the IICRC standards as an industry standard of care.
    Thank you

It’s a record that shows the drying process from the first day a vendor places drying equipment to the last day when the equipment is picked up.

If there is a huge disparity in what the restoration company is charging and what the insurance adjuster is saying is consistent with industry standards, what recourse does the homeowner have? We were told by the restoration company that they billed according to the standards the insurance companies use and we would not pay a dime over that. Now we are being charged over $16,000. over what the insurance company paid and are threatened with a lien on our property. We are not happy about this and are considering legal action.

was it proserv? They put a lien on my home as a first step. Never even sent me a bill prior. Charged $22k. and could not provide a detailed bill. Seems like there should be a class action in here.

I am currently having the same problem, ServPro gutted my entire condo and charged me 36K without sending a detailed bill. What did you end up doing?

I hired a restoration company after my current tenant flooded the property for over an hour, and never shut off the Mainline to stop the damage that was occurring. I was recommended by the plumber to use Bionic Emergency Services. Their employee showed up the same day. Looked a the water damaged for about 10 minutes. I ask their employee to send me a quote, which he did not provide. A few days later while items were still wet in the property, I ask the owner of Bionic for an estimate of services, I mentioned to him I do not just give contractors an open check book to charge whatever they like, I would need a price. They struggled to give me a price even though their website states “Free Estimates” very misleading. They are very quick to throw out those threats of filing a lien against your property, and this company hadn’t even started any work yet, due to the stalling of the “Free Estimate”. I will never use a Restoration company in my life. I will get a general contractor and my own fans and bleach and do the work myself.

My crooked plumber called the water mitigation company (his friend). I okay that they we file an insurance claim for them to do the work. It was denied. The water mitigation company could not find any water damage in the bedroom, nor a wet insulation under the house. After I told them the insurance was denied (the next morning), I told them I do not have the funds to pay them and asked them to take their blowers (they brought the day we filed the insurance claim). They refused and insisted that the insurance should cover it. I talked to the manager-owner, the lead person and 2 of their workers to take their blowers, since it’s not covered by the insurance. It stayed there for days blowing and loud noise. Now, five months later, they are billing me $8667. What exactly did they do, except have the loud blower going? I should have called the police to have them extract their blowers under the house. What are my rights as the owner when I already told them I cannot pay them, the insurance won’t and they won’t remove their fans???
