Hey, everyone knows the dangers of the sport of hockey. There is no way to make it 100% safe. Those who make the decision to play it do so at their own risk. They enjoy the speed and the thrill of contact. When they get injured……it’s part of the risk they assumed. If they don’t want to risk being a quad, find another sport.

Jester, clearly you have never played hockey. Hockey, and other sports, have rules in place to prevent or eliminate injuries. Checking from behind is illegal and every player knows it is against the rules. The kids who broke the rules and hurt someone else with a dirty play will be haunted by the consequences of their poor choice. It is not part of the sport or an assumed risk. I didn’t want to say it, and everyone who reads your thoughtless remark is thinking it, you are an idiot. My prayers go out to these young players trying to recover from an illegal hit.
